Grand Park Otaru Hotel

Grand Park Otaru Hotel is the nicest hotel I stayed so far in my this Hokkaido trip. Its located on Ishikari Bay, just 35 kilometers away from Sapporo, in Japans Hokkaido prefecture.
Grand Park Otaru entrance..got blocked by all our buses

The 18-story hotel is strategically located in the picturesque sea-trading port of Otaru, renowned for its quaint old streets, Victorian-style buildings and canals, and glass-blowing cottage industries.

This hotel sits atop the huge WingBay shopping complex, giving easy access to outlet stores, movie theaters, and even a Ferris wheel. Inside is a reliable, familiar chain hotel with an English-speaking staff. Western-style rooms in gold, blue, and brown have large twin or double beds, and most overlook the waterfront and not the unattractive railway in the rear. It's 2 km (1 mile) from the historic district, but a trolley stop is just outside. It's a five-minute walk from JR Otaru Chikko Station, one stop from JR Otaru Station. The restaurant is a favorite with local foodies.

Grand Park Otaru’s accommodations consist of 296 guestrooms and suites that represent the perfect intimate getaway. Types of rooms in here:
  • Mountain view superior room
  • Ocean view superior room
  • Mountain view deluxe room
  • Ocean view deluxe room
  • Japanese-style room
  • Japanese-style suite
  • Bay suite
  • Executive suite
  • Presidential suite
I get to stay in ocean view superior room, so this is the view I get in the morning:
Superb view of the ocean with boats...wish I can try go out the sea in one of this boat!

Then 10 minutes later at the same spot in the lift area, heavy storm comes...and the view turn into this:
