A day before we left Seoul, we had Live King Crab + Abalone for lunch in a restaurant inside Noryangjin Fisheries Wholesale Market.
Noryangjin Fisheries Wholesale Market |
From Korea Tourism website:
The Noryangjin Fisheries Wholesale Market is the nation's largest
wholesale fish market and boasts a history of more than 80 years. Though
the market is open and busy 24 hours a day, the already bustling
marketplace really picks up around dawn when the fish auctions begin.
The sheer volume of the abundant fish and seafood, not to
mention the freshness of the products, will overwhelm you. They are
transported during the night directly from fishing boats in the East
Sea, the Yellow Sea, and the South Sea, as well as from the Pacific
Ocean.
So remember to hold your breathe when you going past by the market on the way to the restaurant! And dun walk too long in the market, otherwise your shoes and clothing smells!
Our tour group have the whole room with long tables all joint up |
Saw the abalones on the table? Then I tot we only have the crabs which is inside the pot of soup. Then........
Gigantic crab is here!!! Everyone busy taking photos first |
Closer shot of this giant crab..before the waiter cut it up |
