Kitanogurume - Sapporo Central Wholesale Market

A visit to Hokkaido is incomplete without enjoying the Hokkaido Crab. There are mainly four kinds of crabs in Hokkaido:

1) Hanasaki Crab aka Queen Crab

Hanasaki Crab - long easy-to-eat legs with delicate flavor

2) Hairy Crab

Hairy Crab is available through out the year

3) Snow crab or Frozen Crab Legs

4) King crab

King Crab

They all taste yummy!! So, where to get the big fresh crabbies in Sapporo? You must check out Kitanogurume.

Kitanogurume is the Sapporo Central Wholesale Market where you can find any Hokkaido produced food like large variety of marine products and agricultural produced.

The ground floor of the market here is called "Kaisen-Ichiba Kitano Gourmet" where you can see many live crab, fresh marine products, and agricultural produce directly delivered from the district where they were grown or taken, and many Hokkaido seasonal items.

Opening Hours: It's open from 6am to 5pm daily.

Ranging from 11,800 to 13,000+ yen...which is about RM300 to RM400+..gosh

Hmm...probably not enuf big to be a king is it? Wait till you see this....
